How much does an 800 number cost?
An 800 number costs $14.95 to $199 a month at Kall8 depending on minutes (750 to 5,000 included), with the standard number, call recording and analytics included and no activation fee. Premium vanity numbers add their own monthly price from $11. Taxes and fees apply. Competitors range from $9 metered to $50 plus 8¢ a minute.
The four things you actually pay for
- The plan (minutes). Most of the price. Kall8: Starter ${starter.MonthlyPrice:0.00} ({starter.IncludedMinutes} min), Business $34.95 (1,500), Pro $49.95 (2,500), Scale $199 (5,000). Minutes above a plan are billed per minute (usage pricing).
- The number itself. Standard, repeater and most vanity numbers are included in the plan. Premium numbers (scarce 800 patterns, valuable words) carry a monthly price from $11, shown before you choose. Extra numbers: local $5, toll-free from $5.
- Add-ons. Texting on Starter ($5 plus 2¢ a message), Virtual PBX menus ($9.95), hunt groups ($5) and so on. Recording, analytics, forwarding rules and voicemail are included at Kall8; elsewhere they are often add-ons.
- Taxes and fees. Telecom taxes and fees vary by state and billing address. At Kall8 they are calculated at checkout and shown as one amount before you pay.

What the price does not tell you
- Included minutes vs unlimited. Routed toll-free minutes cost every provider money; "unlimited" toll-free usually means a cap in the terms. Ask for the number. Kall8 publishes its fair-use thresholds.
- Port-out fees. Numbers you bring to Kall8 leave free; where a Kall8-assigned number is portable, the port-out charge is on the pricing page. Some providers charge nothing, others more.
- Annual discounts. Kall8's annual billing is 20% off; check the renewal and refund terms before paying a year up front.

Cost questions
The lowest headline prices in September 2026 are around $9 to $10 a month with metered minutes (TollFreeForwarding, UniTel Voice). Kall8 Starter is $14.95 but includes 750 minutes, recording and analytics, which is cheaper once you use a few hundred minutes.
At Kall8, none: no activation fee, no port-in fee. Some providers charge a setup fee or a per-number activation; check the checkout, not the headline.
