## Fair use in full

- Scope: Unlimited applies to calls placed or received through the Kall8 app or Teams client on the local number assigned to that user, to and from the US48. Toll-free numbers, international destinations, calls forwarded to an outside phone and standalone Kall8 numbers are metered.
- Prohibited: Auto-dialers and predictive dialing; Call-center or telemarketing use; Trunking or resale; Fax or voice broadcast; Continuous call forwarding; Call pumping or traffic that generates termination revenue; Any use that violates the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Remedies, in order: Notice; Conversion of the affected users to metered billing at the published per-minute rate from the first day of the month in question; Suspension for repeated or clearly abusive use; Termination without refund for prohibited use.

## General

### What is Kall8?

Kall8 is a business phone number service from Dial800 Telecom LLC, operating since 1993. Toll-free, vanity and local numbers ring any phone you choose and include call analytics, recording, forwarding rules, voicemail and the mobile app ; Kall8 Phone and Microsoft Teams plans add unlimited cloud calling with a local number per user. Everything is managed online in real time.

### How long does it take to set up a Kall8 number?

Minutes. Search for a number, choose a plan and pay online; the number is active as soon as the order completes. Numbers you transfer from another carrier take two to five business days (toll-free) or five to fourteen (local).

### I already have a toll-free number. Can I still use Kall8?

Yes. Submit the online Letter of Agency with a copy of a recent bill showing the number belongs to you. There is no port-in fee and your service is not interrupted during the transfer.

### Can I cancel my service at any time?

Yes. There are no contracts and no cancellation fee, so you can cancel at any time. Numbers you brought to Kall8 move on with you free; for numbers Kall8 assigned, portability is shown when you pick them and in our terms .

### Do I need to install a new telephone line for a Kall8 number?

No. Your Kall8 number rings to any number you choose: a cell phone, an office line or a Kall8 Phone user. Caller ID display and call announcement let you tell Kall8 calls apart from calls to your regular line.

### Do I need to notify my regular local or long distance carrier to use Kall8?

No. Kall8 does not affect your existing phone service in any way.

### Is there any difference between 800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 and 888 numbers?

They all work the same way and cost the same at Kall8. 800 numbers are the oldest and scarcest; newer prefixes have more vanity combinations available. See the prefix guide .

### Do unused minutes in my plan roll over?

No. Included minutes and text messages reset each month on the day after your billing date.

### Do plan minutes include calls outside the United States?

No. Included minutes cover calls that ring to numbers in the contiguous 48 states. Calls forwarded to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada or international destinations are billed at the international rates .

### Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan after signing up?

Yes, at any time by contacting customer service ; the change and any prorated difference appear on your next invoice.

## Billing

### Are there any setup fees or minimums?

No. Kall8 charges no activation fee on any plan and has no minimums. The only one-time charges are for optional add-ons that list a setup price (for example Virtual PBX at $9.95) and for premium vanity numbers, which show their price before you choose a plan.

### Is there a penalty if I cancel my account?

No contract, no cancellation fee. Numbers you brought to Kall8 leave with you free; for numbers Kall8 assigned, see the portability shown when you pick them and our terms .

### What other charges might I expect?

Every plan price is plus applicable federal, state and local taxes and fees, calculated at checkout and shown before you pay. A $10 processing fee applies to a declined card.

### How will I receive my invoices?

Monthly invoices are available online in the portal and by email. Paper invoices by mail are available for a $5 mailed-invoice fee.

### How am I billed?

Your card is charged the prorated first month (or the annual amount) plus estimated taxes and fees when you sign up. Kall8 bills on the 1st of each month; usage above your plan's allowance appears on the following invoice.

### Can I use Kall8 without a credit card?

Yes. Kall8 can set up a prepaid account funded by wire transfer or check; prepayments take up to five days to clear. You are responsible for keeping the balance above your usage.

### Am I charged for wrong-number calls?

Yes, all answered inbound calls use minutes. If you receive many misdials, use the free call blocking and forwarding rules , or choose an 833/844/855 number, which attract fewer wrong numbers than old 800 numbers.

### If my toll-free number rings my cell phone, am I double-billed?

Kall8 bills only the inbound call to your toll-free number. Your mobile carrier treats the forwarded call like any other incoming call under your mobile plan.

## Voice mail

### How do I activate voicemail or inbound fax for my number?

Sign in to the portal or app and switch voicemail or fax on for the number under Call Forwarding. Both are included with every number; see voicemail and fax .

### How long a voicemail greeting can I record?

Up to five minutes. Contact customer service if you need longer.

### Will you record my voicemail greeting for me?

Yes. For $5 a member of our staff records your greeting, with up to three attempts to get it the way you want; if we cannot, the $5 is refunded.

### Can Kall8 upload my greeting from a .wav file?

Yes. Send the file to customer service and we will load it.

### Is there a limit to how many voicemail messages I can receive?

Kall8 stores up to 999 of your most recent messages for 30 days and can email each message to you as an attachment or link.

### Can I retrieve voicemail by phone?

Yes. As well as online, in the app and by email, you can listen over the phone through the voicemail access numbers.

## Call recording

### How do I retrieve and listen to recorded calls?

In the portal or the app, or by the link emailed for each recorded call. See call recording .

### How much does call recording cost?

Call recording is included on every Numbers plan (Starter and above) and on Team 5. For Phone plans that do not include it, the low-volume plan is $10 a month plus 5¢ per recorded call and the high-volume plan is $60 per block of 3,000 recordings with no per-call charge.

### Can I sort my recorded calls?

Yes: by date, call length, caller ID or the number the call was forwarded to; click any column heading to re-sort.

### How can I use recordings to substantiate sales or resolve disputes?

Filter by the caller's number or by date and time to find the call, then play or download it. Notes can be added to each recording.

### What happens if the caller's caller ID is blocked?

In most cases Kall8 still receives the calling number and shows it, even when the caller has blocked caller ID.

### What information is available from calls received from mobile phones?

The calling number is normally available; caller name accuracy depends on the mobile carrier and is not guaranteed.

### Should I seek legal advice before recording calls?

Kall8 does not provide legal advice. Recording-consent rules vary by state; check with an attorney about notification requirements before you enable recording.

## How to use Kall8

### How do I change where my Kall8 number rings?

Sign in to the portal or app, open the number and edit the ring-to number; the change is immediate. See account management .

### Can my Kall8 number ring anywhere I want?

Yes, any phone in the world. Calls forwarded outside the US48 are billed at the international rates .

### How do I get my 800 number to follow me?

Use a hunt group to ring your office, home and cell in order until one answers, or forwarding rules to send calls to different numbers by time of day, day of week or the caller's state.

### Can one number route calls to several departments based on what the caller needs?

Yes. Virtual PBX adds greetings, menus (press 1 for sales, 2 for service) and extensions to any Kall8 number, and is included in the Team 3 and Team 5 packs.

### Can employees see call detail for their own number without administrative access?

Yes. Master logins have full access; Toll-Free Number logins see everything about one number except billing; Ring-To Number logins see only the calls that rang to their location.

### How do I add Kall8 Phone (VoIP) or Microsoft Teams calling?

Choose a Kall8 Phone or Microsoft Teams plan at signup and the first user is provisioned immediately with a local number; add users any time from the portal (Kall8 Phone users $14.95, Teams users $11.95, local number included). No email request or waiting period is needed.
